SHARON ISHIMWE
Sharon is a 2nd year Mass Communication student at Makerere University Kampala. But that is not all there is about her. It had not all been that fairy for her until Caring Hands extended their love, care and concern to her family in 2008.
The young lady had brilliantly passed her Uganda Advanced Level exams but had no hope of joining University. Her mom, our dear beader Pastor Juliet Bazigaga, was constantly sick and on drugs because of the high blood pressure and diabetes that she had suffered for a long time. She could not work anymore and as a result Sharon’s elder siblings had dropped out of University. With all this at the back of her mind, Sharon had no reason to think that she would make it to University either.
That is when Caring Hands intervened. The news that she plus her siblings could continue with school restored long lost hope and joy to her family. In her own words Sharon says,
“Caring Hands worked with God to bring joy to my family. It was the light that we had long waited for while we were in that tunnel. I hope that one time I too, will be able to offer a needy child a chance to study and be happy.”
Sharon works now once a week in Caring Hands as a volunteer and helps with writing these stories.
