Babirye Christine - Assistant Administrator (Accounting)
BABIRYE CHRISTINE

Babirye Christine is an administrative Assistant at Caring Hands. Born on 21st.August 1987, in Kampala Uganda, Christine joined Caring Hands on 04th January 2010. She had acquired a degree in Business Administration at the end of last year at Makerere University Business School.
Christine had been separated from her mother at the age of 4years when her parents separated. She together with her twin sister Nakato Mable and one other sister were then taken to their paternal grandparents where they were tortured and neglected. They were later taken to live with their dad and half mother who mistreated them even more. Their half mom made them dance naked every evening before her and her own children. As kids, they thought it was only a punishment but they later learnt that she was bewitching them through the dancing. They were ordered to address their dad as an “uncle” because the family did not want neighbors to know that they were his kids.
With the help of a friend, their mom took them to live with her when they were 8years old. This friend who had even began paying their fees however died and so their mom had to look after them single handedly as their dad never accepted responsibility. They never lost hope but continued praying until their dad finally accepted them and began taking care of them. He has paid their tuition to the end of university and is still paying for the younger brother and sister who are still in school.
While at Caring Hands, Christine has got the happiness that she was denied as a little girl. She came as a reserved, doubtful and unhappy young lady yet today; she is an outgoing, confident, joyful woman. She got the genuine acceptance and support that she has always desired and has in turn learnt to be compassionate.
